The Subaru Love Promise® is our vision to show love and respect to all people at every interaction with Subaru. Subaru and our retailers believe every day gives us an opportunity to positively impact the world around us – by how we support each other, our customers, and our community. Together, we are committed to making the world a better place.
The Love Promise is what makes Subaru More Than a Car Company® and a Subaru retailer More Than a Car Dealer®. It sets a standard that we are committed to living every day.
Providing comfort, hope, and confidence to children in urgent need
Subaru and its retailers partner with Operation Warm® to visit local homeless shelters and support agencies to provide children with brand-new necessities like coats, shoes, and socks.
These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, they can also have a significant impact on a child’s mental and emotional well-being.
Through this partnership and other historical Subaru Loves to Help efforts, Subaru and retailers like us will have supported over 1 million children and adults in urgent need nationwide.
At Subaru, we believe what we leave behind is a reflection of who we are. That’s why Subaru and our retailers partner with the Arbor Day Foundation (TM) to provide and distribute 100,000 regionally appropriate trees across the country. We’re proud to establish the largest corporate tree distribution ever. Through this and other Subaru Loves the Earth initiatives, Subaru and our retailers have helped distribute and plant over 1.1 million trees.
Subaru believes we should all have a chance to lead a healthy life. That’s why for over 10 years, Subaru and its retailers like us have partnered with Blood Cancer United® and our local hospital to give warm blankets and encouraging messages of hope, written by our employees and customers, to support our community members living with cancer. Through our combined efforts during this partnership, we have supported over 550,000 cancer patients nationwide. Together, we are proud to be Blood Cancer United’s largest automotive donor.
Subaru and its retailers, like us, are continuing our support of education and high-needs schools in our communities through Subaru Loves Learning(R) by providing teachers across the country with funding to purchase the school supplies and resources they know are needed to help students thrive in the classroom. Through our partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, Subaru and its retailers have supported more than 950,000 students nationwide and are proud to be their largest corporate supporter.
Subaru believes all pets deserve a loving home. That's why retailers like us partner with our local animal welfare organization every October to provide direct financial assistance through a grant distributed by the ASPCA® and host pet events to help animals find loving homes. Through our partnership with local and national organizations, Subaru has donated over $70 million, supporting the rescue, adoption, and health of over 700,000 animals. We're proud to be the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA.
Subaru and its retailers believe in giving back to our communities. That's why for every new vehicle sold or leased during the Subaru Share the Love event, Subaru and its retailers, like us, makes a donation to national charities that our owners care about and to over 2,700 local charities where Subaru owners live and work.
Now, after 17 years, Subaru and our retailers have donated nearly $320 million to charity all to give back and to make the world a better place.
At Spreen Subaru, our dedication extends far beyond the showroom — it’s rooted in the heart of the communities we proudly serve. As part of the Subaru Love Promise, we are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of our customers and neighbors by supporting local initiatives and building lasting relationships with those around us. Whether it’s through donations, volunteer work, or hosting community events, we stand by our promise to be more than a car company.
Subaru and Spreen Subaru believe in making a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work. We uphold that belief through our Love Promise Community Commitment. Every month, we select inspiring stories from customers and partners from around our area who strive to support our collective commitment and feature them here.

When we hosted our 2026 Diaper Shower, one of the highlights of the event was the incredible support we received from Spreen Subaru through the Subaru Love Promise initiative. Thanks to their generosity, our families had the opportunity to receive items that can make a real difference as they prepare to welcome a new baby, including baby monitors, strollers with car seats, baby bouncer chairs, car seats, and grab bags for participants. For many of the families we serve, purchasing baby essentials can be a challenge. Seeing the excitement on parents' faces when they learned they had received one of these items was truly special. More importantly, these gifts provided peace of mind and practical support during an important time in their lives. At SAC Health's Community Resource Center, we are grateful for community partners like Spreen Subaru who share our commitment to supporting families. Their kindness helped make our Diaper Shower more meaningful and reminded our participants that they are cared for by a community that wants to see them thrive. We sincerely appreciate Spreen Subaru's partnership and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact together.

A Sweet Promise of Appreciation During Teachers' Appreciation Week, Spreen Subaru visited Monterey Elementary School to thank the incredible teachers who inspire students every day. With a special frozen yogurt treat from Menchie's, teachers enjoyed a sweet break filled with smiles, laughter, and appreciation. More than just froyo, the visit was a reminder of Spreen Subaru's commitment to supporting educators and strengthening the community. It was a simple gesture with a heartfelt message: Thank you for all you do. Your dedication makes a difference, and we are grateful for the impact you have on our students and families every day.

Spreen Subaru proudly partnered with Subaru and Arbor Day Foundation for this year's Subaru Loves the Earth event. An event dedicated to giving back to our community and helping create a greener future. Customers who reserved their complimentary trees joined us at our dealership for a meaningful pickup event filled with smiles, community spirit, and appreciation for the environment. It was incredible to see so many people excited to plant trees that will grow for generations to come. The event was more than just handing out trees. It was about coming together as a community to make a positive impact. Our team had an amazing time connecting with customers, sharing in the excitement, and participating in a cause that reflects Subaru's commitment to caring for the Earth. We are honored to have been part of such a rewarding experience and grateful to everyone who participated in making the Subaru Loves The Earth event such a success. Spreen Subaru is helping grow a greener tomorrow, one tree at a time! 🌳💚

Last month, we were excited to team up with Spreen Subaru for the Subaru Loves the Earth initiative! Sonia and her wonderful team stopped by our Gardenworks location in Yucaipa, CA, and generously donated several trees. These trees will help inspire and teach our young children the importance of caring for our planet. During their visit, they had the chance to see some schools out here learning about nature and the benefits of taking care of the outdoors. A big thank you to everyone involved!

Spreen Subaru sponsored SAC Health for Operation Love with brand new jackets for the children of our local communities. SAC Health last week donated 60 jackets to SOAR Charter Academy of San Bernardino. SOAR Charter Academy is a tuition-free, non-profit public charter school in San Bernardino. These jackets will go to families that are struggling financially, physically, emotionally, mentally and unhoused. Together we can be stronger in our communities. Operation Love, thank you for giving back!

SAC Health had the amazing privilege of being sponsored by Operation Warm, a national nonprofit that distributes brand-new and high-quality coats to children in need on behalf of Spreen Subaru of San Bernardino. Many of the children that received coats were from our local schools in San Bernardino. Many families were struggling as an one parent household, unemployment, disabilities, evictions, unhoused, foster care and in general need. We were honored to protect a child from cold, rain, and wind. Without one, a child may avoid going outside, walking to school, or participating in activities. A new coat means comfort and physical safety during cold weather. Wearing a new coat that fits properly helps a child feel proud instead of embarrassed. It removes the worry of worn-out, too-small, or hand-me-down coats. That confidence can carry into the classroom and social settings. Receiving something new, not used sends a powerful message that, You Matter." When a child looks like their peers and feels comfortable, they are more likely engage, make friends, and participate fully in school and community life. Together we are making a difference!

A huge shoutout and thank you to Spreen Subaru for their generous donation to the SBCUSD Specialized Programs department! 👏 SBCUSD Specialized Programs has the honor of serving some of our district's most vulnerable youth, including identified students in foster care, students experiencing homeless situations, and our pregnant and parenting students. This incredible contribution of snacks and water will directly benefit these students, providing essential fuel to help them succeed. The donation will be used to ensure students have snacks available during their ELITE, Ignite, and HEARTS meetings, for daily use for students in need during the school day, and to help provide for students who need sustenance over the upcoming winter break. Partnerships like these make a real difference in the lives of our students. Thank you, Spreen Subaru, for your commitment to our community and student well-being! #SBCUSD #CommunityPartnership #StudentSuccess #SpreenSubaru #ThankYou

At Spreen Subaru of San Bernardino, our Love Promise isn’t just about cars — it’s about compassion, community, and caring for every life that crosses our path. For years, a small colony of stray cats has quietly made our dealership their home. They’ve found shelter near our parts department, becoming part of our daily rhythm. And at the center of this story is Terry Santos. The cat's little guardian angel. Every morning, before the dealership doors open, Terry is there. She makes sure the cats have food and water so they never go hungry. In the cold winter months, she builds shelters from boxes, blankets, and pure love — the kind of care that can’t be measured in hours or dollars. When one of the mama cats began having litters, Terry didn’t turn away. She opened her home — sometimes to five or six kittens at a time — feeding them by hand, bottle by bottle. She paid for their shots, ensured they were healthy, and personally found loving homes for each one. For Terry, they weren’t strays; they were tiny souls who deserved a chance. But this fall, the challenge grew. With seven cats already in her home, Terry discovered yet another litter tucked away behind our parts bins. Overwhelmed but determined, she knew she couldn’t do it alone. That’s when the Subaru Love Promise came to life in a new way — through kindness and action. Sonia from our team shared Terry’s story with our owner, Jeff Spreen. Without hesitation, Jeff said: “First things first — let’s help Terry. Make sure she’s reimbursed for all she’s done. And let’s get mama cat fixed so we don’t have any more surprise litters.” A few days later, Terry and Sonia brought the kittens to our partner, Devore Animal Shelter, where they received their first shots and a clean bill of health. When Jeff saw their photo — tiny faces full of hope — something extraordinary happened. Within minutes, Jeff called back: “Do all you can to help them.” Moments later, he called again: “You know what? I’m coming to get them.” That Tuesday afternoon, despite heavy traffic, over 100 miles and one and half hour drive each way, Jeff arrived just before closing time. He couldn’t bear the thought of leaving those kittens behind. Today, those four kittens are safe and sound in Jeff and his wife’s care — fostered in a warm, loving home where they’re learning to trust, to play, and to feel the gentle touch of a caring hand. And the story doesn’t end there. With help from the San Bernardino Humane Society, we’ve joined their Capture, Fix, and Release program to ensure mama cat and the others are cared for — and that no more surprise litters arrive at our dealership. This has truly been a team effort. From Terry’s compassion to Jeff’s generosity, and from the parts department to the sales floor, the entire Spreen Subaru family has come together to make a difference. It’s a powerful reminder: when we lead with love, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish — not just for our customers, but for every little life that crosses our path.

trunk or Treat was just around the corner, and everyone at our school could feel the excitement building! Costumes were being planned, decorations were coming together — but we still needed one very important thing: treats for our students! That’s when our friends at Subaru stepped in with a big heart and helping hands. They heard about our event and wanted to make sure every student could enjoy a night full of fun, laughter, and candy. So, the Subaru team made a generous donation — bags and , and goodies to share with all our students. Their kindness made sure that no child was left out and that every student could experience the joy of Trunk or Treat. The Subaru team showed us that giving isn’t just about candy — it’s about caring for others and building community together. Thanks to Subaru, our Trunk or Treat isn't just a celebration — it was a reminder that when we give from the heart, everyone wins. 💙🎃

For the past few years, Spreen Subaru has truly been a blessing in our lives, generously adopting several of our teachers and classrooms. This year, my classroom was one of the recipients for Subaru Loves Learning. Their support means the world to me and to our students because, thanks to their kindness, we’ve been able to acquire essential items that elevate our classroom experience. I’ve been able to order markers, reusable poster paper, and even a printer—tools that have helped our students visualize math equations and solutions. Their compassion has ignited hope and opened doors for us, making a real difference in our learning journey.

Avery is a 2x leukemia survivor who is currently in maintenance treatment. She was in the hospital last June of 2024 receiving high dose chemo when Subaru delivered blankets. She loved getting the blanket and care package at that time. Avery had a full circle moment by being able to help hand out blankets to patients at Loma Linda this year. It meant so much to Avery to give back as she knows first hand what those patients are going through. Thank you Subaru for your generosity and kindness. 💙

Spreen Subaru is proud that through the 2024 Subaru Share the Love® Event, has donated almost $54,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of the Mountain Communities. A contribution that will make a lasting impact on local youth and families. Spreen Subaru chose to support the Boys & Girls Club of the Mountain Communities as its hometown charity, ensuring that funds raised through the Share the Love Event would directly benefit children and teens right here in our mountain communities. This donation will help provide essential programs focused on academic success, healthy lifestyles, character development, and more.

Thank you, Spreen Subaru! Living in the mountains, there are very few after-school programs available for our kids. Without the Boys and Girls Club (BGC), it would be extremely difficult for my husband and I to both work. The staff at BGC is excellent—caring, professional, and truly dedicated to the kids. We've seen firsthand how they provide scholarships to families in need, ensuring that every child has access to this vital program. A special shout-out to Sonia Ceja for facilitating the grants that make this program possible, and to Marcy Vega for her leadership running BGC. I don't know what we would do without them! Thank you again, Spreen Subaru, for investing in our community and providing a safe, fun and enriching after school program for our kids. With gratitude, The McGuire Family
