2025 Subaru Forester Trim Levels and Packages

May 7th, 2025 by

The 2025 Subaru Forester is a compact SUV that has six different grades to choose from when you’re trying to get the exact features that you desire for your next vehicle. There are many nuances between them, and the best way to gain a full understanding of each trim level is by consulting one of our sales representatives here at Spreen Subaru.

Base and Premium

Being the two starting editions, the Base and Premium versions of the Subaru Forester provide a well-rounded experience across the board. They exclusively have the Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission with a low shift mode that pairs well with the standard 2.5L 4-cylinder motor that outputs 180 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque that’s used across all trim levels. When you take these elements into consideration, it’s easy to see that you’ll already be getting a lot out of your Forester, and should you opt for the Premium grade, then the available X-MODE® feature will help you drive more optimally on low-friction terrain.

Sport and Wilderness

When it comes to their powertrains, the 2025 Suabru Forester Sport and Wilderness trim levels are the same, yet these two options differ from each other in the transmissions that they use. The Sport edition has a standard Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Transmission with an 8-speed manual mode, while the Wilderness has a standard Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Transmission with a 7-speed mode. You’ll get similar performance with both options, but for pilots who pay attention to every minute detail, the nuances between the two won’t go unnoticed. The Wilderness trim in particular is also entirely unique in that it has 9.2 inches of ground clearance. This makes it the perfect option for tackling off-road expeditions that you might otherwise steer clear of.

Limited and Touring

Turning our attention to the Limited and Touring trim levels, these are the two options that’ll bring you the most premium features that the 2025 Subaru Forester can offer. If you’re interested in either of these, then the first detail you should be aware of is that they’re both the only trim levels to feature the leather-trimmed upholstery option for all seats. The Touring also has a standard Harman Kardon premium audio system with 11 speakers. Lastly, the Limited and Touring have the 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels with a Dark Metallic and machine finish, and the 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels with a Dark Gray machine finish, respectively. Contact us today for more information!
